“On 2-12-57, N6878H rolled out our shop newly covered, newly overhauled 65 Continental, and a fresh paint job, with a '57 design.  On 2-17-57, I flew it to Calhoun Falls South Carolina that was on a Sunday.

Frankie was there, Polly was there, Clarice was there, but only Gaynell would go up.  I wound up only spending a hour or so in Calhoun Falls.  That's Gaynell in front seat of the cockpit.

The airfield is tremendously improved, but in the same location.  It's hard to believe that was 50 years ago!  Geez

By way, that is the J-3 I drove to Tri-City Airport and hauled to Greenville on a trailer.  Bristol, Johnson City, and Kingsport, Tenn. is where Tri-City is located.  If I remember correctly, Luther paid $600 for the skeleton and engine in 1956.  That was 12 weeks pay back then.

Anything else you need to know about "78 Hotel"?  I use to know what the Total Time on the engine was we got it, but after 50 years-----------------LOL.

I've forgotten a few things, like-------------did I leave the mag switch on last time I used the plane? -  Clyde
